A Compendium of Entry Points into the Archive
Anthony Damiani’s vision of philosophy is inspiring: deep, broad, and complex. Not only did he explain difficult concepts in words, he used symbolical diagrams to indicate what couldn’t be said in words. Moreover, he sought to relate the points of view of many different thinkers, mystics, philosophers, and spiritual traditions and show how they complemented rather than contradicted each other. Here we want to indicate some of the traditions, schools, and philosophies that he engaged with, amplified, drew upon, and synthesized in both classes and diagrams.

The topics discussed above do not exhaust all the traditions, topics, and individuals that Damiani investigated on his own and in the classes he led. For example, there were also classes on Kashmir Shaivism; Kabbalah; the Idea of Man; Kant, Cassirer; R. Steiner; G. R. Malkani; physics, including quantum mechanics; the practice of meditation; Ibn ‘Arabi; H. Corbin; Scholastic epistemology; among others. Many of these classes have been transcribed, some have audio that has not yet been transcribed, and for others there are partial transcripts and student notes.
